Dear Members, Players, Parents, and Supporters,
As Christmas approaches and we reflect on another wonderful year at Wendover Juniors FC, I want to take a moment to share some exciting updates and news from around the club.
New Appointments
We are pleased to announce that Daniel Fell has taken on the role of Welfare Officer, ensuring the safety and well-being of all our players. David Painter will be starting as Treasurer in the new year. Additionally, Rob has stepped up as Assistant Treasurer, supporting David in managing the club’s finances.
Call for Referees
We are currently seeking referees to support our matches in the younger age groups. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a referee, please get in touch. We are working with local schools to link referee qualifications with Duke of Edinburgh and GCSE courses, and we will provide support throughout. It’s also a great way to earn money over the weekends.
Tournament Dates and Sponsors
The tournament team has been busy, and we have selected the dates 20th & 21st June 2026. You may wonder why we’ve chosen Father’s Day, but this aligns with other local tournaments, and this year it’s our turn! With our dedicated group of volunteers, I’m confident we will make the most of the situation and deliver an amazing event as always. The team has also created a new sponsorship offering, which can be found here https://www.wendoverjuniorfootball.org.uk/d/documents.html?group_id=24437 please do share this widely.
Girls’ Football Development
Alongside the girls already playing in various age groups, we will be focusing on recruiting girls at younger ages and building from the ground up. The Cubs and U6s are already seeing more girls training, so in the seasons to come, we hope to have a strong girls’ representation across the club.
Condolences
It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Roy Rance from Chiltern Sports. Roy was a wonderful person and a great supporter of grassroots football. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Club Accreditation
Finally, I am proud to confirm that Wendover Juniors FC has been officially accredited again for the coming year. This recognition reflects our commitment to maintaining high standards across all areas of the club.
Thanks to Our Volunteers
A huge thank you to all our volunteers whose dedication and hard work keep the club running smoothly. Your time and effort are truly appreciated and make a real difference to our community.
Thank you all for your continued support throughout the year. Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year filled with happiness, health, and plenty of football! Here’s to an exciting and successful year ahead for Wendover Juniors FC.
Warm Christmas wishes,
Paul Sitzberger
Chairman, Wendover Juniors FC
