First and foremost, many thanks to all the parents for doing the miles to get their sons to Uxbridge, for an early Sunday morning kick off. We were under no illusion that this would be a tough match given Ickenham Youth White play in Division 4 (i.e. four divisions above us). On seeing their line up, there was a bit of hope, as none of them looked physically bigger than our boys. But what they lacked in physicality they made up with skilled team play. We really missed out on the advantage playing downhill in the first half as we failed to read the game. Though we came back stronger in the second half to pull two back-to-back goals. There was a glimmer of hope, but by this time fatigue did set in and with only one sub, the boys held it together very well. The slope played in the oppositions favour and with our tired legs they piled on more goals. It was evident that our boys are yet to gel as a team and learn the skill of reading the game, but then this is only the second match they have been playing together. Our focus now shifts to back to winning Division 8 and gaining promotion. See you at training on Tuesday
